WooT!
Remember the book I mentioned a couple of posts back? Well, I cobbled up a short story based on the main character and submitted it to Beyond Centauri, a print magazine featuring science fiction and fantasy stories for kids. They accepted it! I'm so pleased. :)
After writing nonfiction for soooo long, it's kind of scary to think of myself as a fiction writer. But I'm giving it a shot. Wish me luck!
For information on Beyond Centauri (and the writer's guidelines), visit Sam's Dot Publishing.
And on a serious note:
Please take a moment today to remember September 11 and all the folks affected by the events of that horrific day. God bless.

That's wonderful. I'm so happy for you. I do indeed wish you the very best of luck. :)
Thank you, Hilary! I appreciate it! I've had a handful of fiction pieces pubbed over the years, but this is the first one in this genre. Fun. :)
Hey, good for you Anne! You're stretching your writing wings. :)
Thanks, Frank! :)
Hi Anne.. I read through you website and found your work interesting. I'm a new literary agent and have worked inside book publishing for over 30 years. Go to JanKardys.com and you will see my background.
I wanted to let you know about a major writers conference that you might wish to sign up for in April 10, 2010 in Stratford, CT. It will cover every dept within a book publisher and all the genres.
Hope you can review the site at unicornwritersconference.com. Thanks. Jan
Hi Jan,
Thanks so much for dropping by and leaving a comment! I'll visit your links and check out the conference info. Unfortunately, though, I'm afraid a trip to Stratford, CT is out of this writer's budget. :)
